Burden, quality of life and coping strategies of palliative care patients’ caregivers

Aim: The burden of the caregiver can affect socially, psychologically and physically in time. Since becoming a is always an unpredictable situation adaptation to this takes place after arises. aim study examine attitudes coping with quality life caregivers patients hospitalized palliative care units.
 Materials Methods: was carried out 59 unit university hospital. Zarit scale used determine burden, SF 36 life, COPE self-report scales reveal attitudes.
 Results: mean score 50.7 interpreted as moderate burden. highest among subscale scores 7 (religious coping) (15.7); lowest 12 (4.4) (Substance use). A significant negative correlation found between education level (R = -0.291, p 0.025).
 Conclusion: Caregiver totality possible physical, psychological, social or financial responses while providing care. In our country, mostly women, unemployed low-educated family members become caregiving. study, participants defined although they provided chronic severe patients. This indicates that addition treatment centers, are also medical, psychological support.
